Netflix will release Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon in the winter of 2023.

Rebel Moon will premiere on December 22nd, according to a statement from Netflix, which also unveiled the first official still from the Zack Snyder-directed film. Sophia Boutella, who stars in the movie as Kora, is depicted in the image. According to director Zack Snyder, Kora is “the reluctant hero from a peaceful colony who is about to find she’s her people’s last hope.”
At the very end of Netflix’s 2023 preview video, there are a few seconds of Rebel Moon footage.
In the past, Zack Snyder has claimed that Rebel Moon was first conceived as his interpretation of the Seven Samurai tale set in the Star Wars galaxy. Since then, it has been repurposed as a component of its own unique cinematic universe and may be used to create yet another genre film series on Netflix, joining Army of the Dead, which made its debut on the platform in 2021.
Rebel Moon, which is directed by Zack Snyder and features a screenplay by him, Shay Hatten, and Kurt Johnstad, also features Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Ray Fisher, Djimon Hounsou, Jena Malone, Corey Stoll, Ed Skrein, Cleopatra Coleman, Fra Fee, Cary Elwes, Anthony Hopkins, Stuart Martin, Alfonso Herrera, Michiel Huisman, Staz Nair, and Rhian Rees.
