Brand-new images from the set of the impending Netflix feature, Rebel Moon, have just been unveiled by Zack Snyder.
After working with DC Comics’ iconic superheroes on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Man of Steel, and Justice League, Army of the Dead was the beginning of Zack Snyder‘s collaboration with Netflix. Now, the director ventures into yet another genre with Rebel Moon, an original science fiction picture.
Zack Snyder‘s impending Netflix original film Rebel Moon has started filming, and the picture is taking shape to be an exciting new sci-fi epic that honors his influences as a director, including the films of Akira Kurosawa and the Star Wars saga. The character of Djimon Hounsou, who was nominated for an Academy Award, appears quite intense in a profile headshot in one of these images.
Here are some images from the forthcoming Netflix feature that you can check out:
Zack Snyder has depicted that Rebel Moon was initially created as his take on the Seven Samurai narrative set inside the Star Wars universe. Because it has now been repurposed as part of its own unique cinematic universe, and it may be used to create yet another genre film series with Netflix, following in the footsteps of the successful Army of the Dead series that launched on Netflix last year.
Filmed by Zack Snyder and co-written by Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad, Netflix’s Rebel Moon stars Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, and Corey Stoll.
