Following his Oscars altercation with comedian Chris Rock, Will Smith‘s future involvement in other Hollywood ventures is uncertain. This contains a previously halted Deadshot solo film.
DC was said to be working on a solo feature starring Smith for Deadshot. The picture, however, had been “placed on the backburner” even before Will Smith‘s now-famous spat with Chris Rock, according to the report.
According to the source, Smith‘s asking price for the film was the cause for the film’s development halt. According to Rolling Stone, Smith essentially priced himself out of the picture, but it’s unknown how much he demanded to appear in it. According to Rolling Stone, Smith was paid $20 million for his part in King Richard, for which he earned an Academy Award for Best Actor.
Smith co-starred with Margot Robbie in the 2016 picture Suicide Squad, which received mixed reviews upon its release. While a sequel to the franchise was planned, Smith eventually opted to leave the character, and the company replaced him with Bloodsport (played by Idris Elba from Sonic 2) for the James Gunn-directed film.
