In its fourth season, Westworld is bringing back a character who hasn’t been seen in a long time.

On Saturday, James Marsden made an unexpected cameo at the end of the HBO show’s ATX TV Festival panel. Teddy Flood, his character, will return in the show’s fourth season, which will air on June 26.
On stage in Austin, Marsden appeared alongside fellow cast members Luke Hemsworth, Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, Angela Sarafyan, and Aurora Perrineau, as well as co-creator and executive producer Lisa Joy.
Marsden last featured on Westworld in season two, in the last few episodes. Teddy kills himself in front of Dolores (Wood) in the season’s penultimate episode, upset that she has modified his programming.
Westworld‘s creators have remained tight-lipped on what to expect in the fourth season, including how Marsden will play a role in it, in line with the show’s normal approach. Ariana DeBose, the Oscar winner, will have a recurring part (the nature of which is unknown), and a teaser trailer included a lot of provocative imagery but provided little specifics about the show’s direction. “A gloomy odyssey concerning the destiny of sentient life on Earth,” HBO defines the season.
Thandiwe Newton, Tessa Thompson, Ed Harris, and Aaron Paul will all return to Westworld, in addition to the group that performed at the ATX Festival.
HBO also published a poster for season four in connection with the ATX panel, which can be seen below.
