In its second week on Netflix, the original series Wednesday set a new record for the number of hours watched.

In the week of November 28-December 4, the mystery comedy shattered its own record for the most viewings in a single week for an English-language series on Netflix. Wednesday had 411.29 million watching hours globally, according to the company’s internal data. It’s the first time a weekly total for an English-language show has ever been above 400 million hours.
Wednesday, after just 12 days hitting Netflix, has already racked up 752.52 million hours of viewership, moving up to the third spot in the all-time list of English-language series on Netflix. It is very likely that it will surpass Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (856.22 million hours) in the coming week to take over second place, and on track to become the third Netflix show in any language to pass a billion hours of watch time in its first four weeks, joining Squid Game (1.65 billion hours), as well as season four of Stranger Things (1.35 billion).
The show’s success on Netflix has spilled over into other media: TikTok users have conducted billions of searches related to Wednesday, and the show’s soundtrack is currently taking the crown on the iTunes soundtrack raking.
Wednesday follows Jenna Ortega’s portrayal of a teenaged Wednesday Addams at Nevermore Academy as she struggles to come to terms with her developing psychic abilities, stops a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and uncovers the truth behind the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very complicated relationships at school.
