
Disney+ has released the official trailer for Trevor: The Musical, a cinematic adaptation of the Off-Broadway stage musical, to kick off Pride Collection. It is set to premiere on streaming service on Friday, June 24.
Trevor: The Musical is an adaptation of the short film that won an Academy Award in 1995. It tells the story of a charming 13-year-old force of nature with his vivid imagination. Holden is the star of the film. The film’s cast features Mark Aguirre, Aaron Alcaraz, Sammy Dell, Tyler Joseph Gay, Ellie Kim, Colin Konstanty, Brigg Liberman, Diego Lucano, Alyssa Emily Marvin, Echo Deva Picone, Dan Rosales, Yasmeen Sulieman, Aryan Simhadri, Jarrod Zimmerman, and Sally Wilfert.
Peggy Rajski-directed short film is also a source of inspiration behind The Trevor Project, which is now the biggest LGBTQ youth suicide prevention nonprofit organization in the world.
Trevor: The Musical was written by Dan Collins for book and lyrics, and by Julianne Wick Davis for music. Marc Bruni is in charge of the directing, while Josh Prince is behind the choreography. Roy Furman and John Ambrosio/Josie Bray/Mark Woods were on board as the Off-Broadway leading producers of the show.
Robin Mishkin Abrams is at the helm of the cinematic adaptation of the musical. RadicalMedia produced the film alongside executive producers Jon Kamen, Dave Sirulnick, Meredith Bennett, and Jonathan Meyers.
