Since the early 2000s, Amber Heard has worked as an actor. She dropped out of high school to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles, taking on any tiny gigs she could. She built up a portfolio as she took on more and more responsibilities, eventually landing her first leadership position. Her popular fame came with two consecutive supporting parts in critically acclaimed films, and she has since gone on to star in a number of well-known series.
Princess Mera in Aquaman is perhaps one of her most well-known roles. It’s part of the DC Extended Universe, a prominent superhero franchise that adapts DC superhero books for the big screen. She is expected to reprise her role and star in the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom sequel, which is planned to hit theaters in March 2023. Despite speculations that she wouldn’t return owing to personal and legal concerns, she is still a part of the film, especially now that production has ended. Take a look at some of Heard‘s finest flicks as we wait for the film’s release (and the world watches the libel trial with Johnny Depp, for better or worse).
6. Never Back Down

New student Jake Tyler learns that his school is highly into mixed martial arts in the martial arts film Never Back Down. He rapidly understands that learning MMA is a must if he wants to obtain the respect of his peers after being humiliated by a bully due to his lack of training. In this film, Heard portrays Baja Miller, Jake’s love interest. Jake would not have made it through the grueling Beatdown competition if it hadn’t been for her, who pushed him to overcome his injuries and defeat Ryan. Heard is ideal for the part, being compassionate when necessary while still understanding when to stand firm. Without her, the film would not be the same.
5. 3 Days to Kill

CIA Agent Ethan Renner is seeking to reconnect with his family during his final few months alive in 3 Days to Kill, as he battles a deadly disease that is growing throughout his body. CIA assassin Vivi Delay, on the other hand, believes he can help her discover her target, The Wolf, and persuades him to do so by promising him an experimental cancer medicine that may prolong his life, but in doing so, he puts his family in risk. Heard portrays the assassin Vivi Delay in this film, who is a pivotal figure in the storyline. Renner would not only have never had the chance to battle his cancer if it hadn’t been for her, but he would also have been in a lot less danger as he sought to reunite with his family and track down The Wolf at the same door.
4. The Ward

Kristen, a disturbed lady, is confined to a mental facility after setting fire to an abandoned farmhouse in The Ward, a psychological horror film. She meets a few more patients there, but they’re all plagued by the same ghostly apparition that no one else can see. Kristen must now attempt to save the other girls from the monster before it consumes them all. Kristen is played by Heard, who brings the main character to life in a manner that only she could. Dealing with a terrifying movie monster is one thing; dealing with one that only you can see and then having to live with the repercussions is quite another. To make something convincing to the viewer, it requires a lot of skill.
3. All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

All The Boys Love Mandy Lane is a story about betrayal and retaliation. Many of her peers are drawn to Mandy Lane, but she remains loyal to her closest friend, Emmet, who is harassed and humiliated by them. He convinces one of them to leap over the roof, where he subsequently dies, the first of many merciless killings he would carry out. Mandy Lane is brought to life by none other than Heard herself, who steps into the lead role for the first time. She wanted to appear like the type of lady that boys would fight over while still concealing something far darker than anybody could have imagined, and after seeing this movie, there’s no question that Heard understands what she’s doing.
2. The Rum Diary

The comedy The Rum Diary features ambitious novelist Paul Kemp, who has been unable to sell a book and instead opts to pursue a career in journalism. Because the publication where he is employed is supposed to be closing shortly, he continues his job search and meets realtor Sanderson, who offers him a job writing advertising. In this book to film adaption, trouble arises at both jobs for Kemp, who is simply trying to keep afloat. In this film, Heard portrays Chenault, Sanderson’s fiancée who finally falls in love with Kemp. She does an excellent job of bringing the character to life, continuously aching over Kemp but refusing to succumb to temptation while still engaged. It’s exactly what a comedy like this needs from a romantic interest.
1. Aquaman

Arthur Curry arrives in Atlantis for the first time at Princess Mera’s request, seeking to prevent his half-brother Orm from initiating a war with the surface people. To do so, Arthur must solve a series of challenges and riddles in order to locate the lost trident of Atlan, Atlantis’ first monarch. It would establish his legitimacy as the true monarch and allow him to prevent the conflict from starting. Heard portrays Princess Mera, an atlantean warrior, as previously said. She is Arthur’s companion on his voyage, and he would not have made it without her. It takes a lot of courage to go against your own family in order to attain peace.
