Warning – This article contains spoilers for Loki Season 1 finale.
A turning point, which had a far-reaching impact on the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was released at the end of Loki season 1, and it’s evident that the story is far from over now that Season 2 has been confirmed.
Season 1 of Tom Hiddleston’s journey was full of unexpected twists and turns. The God of Mischief was set to begin his own revenge scheme against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes after fleeing the Avengers’ Time Heist, but it was halted by the arrival of the Time Variance Authority.
During the early episodes of the series, Loki was held captive by the TVA before eventually cooperating with them to track down and defeat another Variant of himself, which turned out to be Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie. The trickster’s contact with Sylvie set in motion a chain of events that culminated in the discovery of the TVA’s truth.
The fleeing couple realized that the Time-Keepers were not genuine, discovered that everyone who is pruned ends up in a location called The Void, discovered a number of Loki Variants, and identified the true leader of the TVA: He Who Remains in the final three episodes.
It was revealed that He Who Remains was a Kang the Conqueror Variant, and the arrival of the MCU’s next dangerous villain was teased successfully by his appearance. Season 1 come to a stop with a huge cliffhanger, demonstrating how the multiverse was unfolded through the presence of branched timelines.
Now, surprising twists appears to be on the way, as shown by the show’s lead star’s most recent statements.

TOM HIDDLESTON TEASES BIG CHANGES ON LOKI’S NEW JOURNEY TOWARDS BEING HIS BEST SELF IN LOKI SEASON 2
Tom Hiddleston spoke with Marvel about Loki Season 2 and what fans can anticipate.
The MCU veteran expressed gratitude to the cast and crew for completing Season 1, while also noting that he still can’t believe they “get to have another go” at creating fresh storylines for the God of Mischief:
“I am so grateful that we got to do Season 1, I still am not quite able to process that we get to have another go at this. I am so excited by the possibilities.”
Hiddleston then said that the cast and crew are already in “deep talks” about how to continue the second season’s multiverse-infused storyline:
“We are already in discussions. Deep, deep, deep discussions. I can’t wait to get started.”
Hiddleston concluded by thanking the crowd and hinting that there would be more shocks in the show’s sophomore season:
“I want to say thank you to the audience because without the audience, we wouldn’t be able to make a Season 2… I hope Season 1 was full of surprises. And I think Season 2 will be full of even more.”

EVEN MORE SURPRISES IN LOKI SEASON 2
Tom Hiddleston’s latest statements aren’t shocking, especially given the first season of Loki’s multitude of surprise disclosures. Nonetheless, his comments should instill even more excitement for the highly anticipated sophomore season.
It’s unclear what else awaits viewers, although it might begin with the dangling story strands that Season 1 didn’t handle. Season 2 has a lot to address, from the whereabouts of Gugu Mbatha-Ravonna Raw’s Renslayer to Loki’s role in the multiverse, and it appears like the viewers will be in for some major shocks along the road.
Given that Kang the Conqueror is now the commander of the TVA, it’s probable that the MCU villain may make a return in Loki Season 2. In some ways, this is appropriate because Loki Season 1 sets the foundation for Doctor Strange’s myriad plotline in the Multiverse of Madness, and the same might be said for Season 2 when it possibly lays the plot threads for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Hiddleston’s statement that they are still in “deep conversations” might imply that they have not yet recorded parts for Season 2, despite the fact that many assumed the deleted scenes in the teaser were from Season 2. Still, this might be the actor’s way of hinting what’s to come in Loki Season 2, and it’s feasible that more filming would be required to complete the story.
Loki’s first season is now available on Disney+.
