In a recent announcement by Warner Bros.’ official Japanese YouTube channel, it was confirmed that production on a sequel to the live-action version of Tokyo Revengers had been given the go-ahead.
The newly released video reveals that the film will be released in 2023 and will mark the return of ample the original cast members from the previous movie, including Takemichi Hanagaki resuming his leading role. Tsutomu Hanabusa will, once again, serve as the movie’s director, while Shota Okada will serve as the producer. In addition, it was announced that the film would feature newcomers, although no details were given at the time.

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the release of the first live-action version of Tokyo Revengers has been pushed back to 2021 from its initial October 2020 date. In Japan, the picture debuted in July 2021 and immediately soared to the top of the box office, becoming one of the highest-grossing live-action films of 2021.
