Marvel Studios is working on a new Thunderbolts film, which will be directed by Jake Schreier.

In the comics, the Thunderbolts is a team of reformed Marvel Universe villains headed by Captain America adversary Baron Zemo. Similar to DC’s Suicide Squad, the gang has a propensity to do more ethically gray missions, which the generally more typical heroes may not have the stomach for. General Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross has also taken the head of a roster of more iconic anti-heroes like The Punisher, Electra, Venom, and Deadpool. Currently, Marvel Studios seems to be making plans to bring them to the big screen.

‘Thunderbolts‘ is in the works at Marvel Studios. The film will be directed by Jake Schreier and written by Black Widow’s Eric Pearson. As usual, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will fill the role of producer for the project. The information is still scarce at the time being, but we do know that it will contain supervillains and/or former supervillains working for the government. It’s also possible that filming may kick-off as early as the summer of next year.
