MGM has finally published the official trailer for George Miller‘s epic fantasy film Three Thousand Years of Longing, which stars Oscar winner Tilda Swinton and Golden Globe winner Idris Elba. In 2022, the picture made its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, and it will be distributed in theaters this summer.
The film, which you can see below along with the key art, shows a lady who finds herself in the company of a Djinn. Because of her intellectual background, she is hesitant to make a wish, stating that there is no story about hoping that isn’t a cautionary tale.
Regardless, Djinn tries to persuade her view by giving her stories of other wishes he has granted.
Three Thousand Years of Longing is directed by George Miller and is based on the short tale by A.S. Byatt, The Djinn in the Nightingale’s Eye, from a script he co-wrote with Augusta Gore. Idris Elba (The Suicide Squad) and Tilda Swinton (Constantine) star in the film together with Burcu Gölgedar, Matteo Bocelli, and Aamito Lagum.
Three Thousand Years of Longing is produced by Doug Mitchell, Miller, and Kennedy Miller Mitchell, with Craig McMahon and Kevin Sun serving as executive producers. FilmNation Entertainment, United Artists Releasing, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer are behind it.
