A new photo from Thor: Love and Thunder has been revealed, featuring Chris Hemsworth‘s thunder god in a blazing scene with his trusty Stormbreaker at his side.
Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as Marvel’s God of Thunder, reuniting with Natalie Portman‘s Jane Foster, the new owner of his previous hammer and another version of the Asgardian hero in Thor: Love and Thunder. Thor states in the film’s trailer that his “superheroing days are over,” but with Christian Bale‘s Gorr the God Butcher looming on the horizon, it seems doubtful that Thor’s retirement can last long.
A new photo from Thor: Love and Thunder give a closer look at a scene featured in the trailer’s final seconds, in which Chris Hemsworth’s Thor meets face-to-face with Natalie Portman’s version of the character. It portrays the Asgardian deity in what looks to be a suburban area, which is in flames around him. He has his trusty new axe, Stormbreaker, ready at his side and is sporting a new black attire with a fur-topped cloak. Check out the new photo through the tweet below:
The movie, which is produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, and directed by Taika Waititi, features Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, and Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Russell Crowe, and Sean Gunn.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to open in theaters on July 8, 2022.
