If it wasn’t evident enough, Marvel Studios is ramping things up even further in 2022, and it stands to reason to look forward that it will be the biggest year yet for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thor: Love and Thunder is one of the most anticipated films of the year, since it promises to be even greater than its predecessor. Indeed, the film helmed by Taika Waititi has been tentatively dubbed Avengers 5.
The marketing campaign for Marvel’s Love and Thunder has kicked off at a time when fans are waiting with bated breath for the trailer’s debut. Over the weekend, pictures from the film’s forthcoming Hasbro Marvel Legends line leaked online, revealing all sorts of spoiler conceivable, ranging from the characters’ appearances to the film’s interesting narrative.
As it turns out, the beloved Avenger will assume a new persona as “Ravager Thor.” Hemsworth’s character was first reported to be the MCU’s version of the ’80s comic book character Thunderstrike, but it’s reasonable to believe that they just drew inspiration from him. Take a look here:
Assuming the rumors are true, Odinson presumably joined the Guardians of the Galaxy because he would be rendered “unworthy” in Love and Thunder. And, given that The Ravagers had lost their leader in Yondu, Thor’s takeover of the group makes perfect sense. The issue is whether the Guardians and Ravagers can finally coexist peacefully or if we’re in for another civil war between the two groups.
Thor: Love and Thunder is slated to swoop into theaters on July 8, 2022.
