In the Yellowstone world, the cast is growing better and better. Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford have been cast in the second episode of the Dutton origin narrative, 1932 (working title), according to Paramount+.
The streamer stated that the second installment will introduce a new generation of Duttons and take place in the early twentieth century, when pandemics, record droughts, the repeal of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all wreak havoc on the mountain west and the Duttons who call it home, without revealing who Mirren and Ford will play in the latest Taylor Sheridan film. MTV Entertainment Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions, and 101 Studios are producing the film, which will debut in December.
The new Yellowstone offshoot follows 1883, a one-off prequel starring Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in the roles of James and Margaret Dutton. The drama, which also stars Sam Elliott, LaMonica Garrett, and Isabel May, became Paramount+’s most-watched title ever.
Meanwhile, following a record-breaking fourth season, the gripping series Yellowstone, starring Kevin Costner as John Dutton, has recently begun production on Season 5. It received its first Screen Actors Guild Award and Producers Guild Award nominations, with an average of 11 million total viewers.
