Warder-turned-wolf brother Elyas Machera in the pages of Robert Jordan’s novels will be depicted in the role of The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime Video, played by British actor Gary Beadle.
According to WoTSeries.com, the information was just updated on Beadle’s résumé. The listing is short, with the title “Wheel of Time S2” and the character “Elyas” without any indication of how many episodes he would appear in. The director section does include the word “Various,” indicating that he would appear in more than one episode. Beadle’s IMDb profile, which has over 70 credits, presently does not have a listing for The Wheel of Time.
Everything from an episode of the BBC sitcom The Young Ones in 1984 to a recurring role on the hit British soap opera EastEnders in the early 2000s to his role as Dol Isaacs in the acclaimed 2020 miniseries Small Axe has established his career. He has also appeared in a number of films, including the acclaimed miniseries Small Axe, in which he plays Dol Issacs for Steve McQueen.
Beadle will play the role of Elyas, a crucial character in Perrin Aybara’s life in Jordan’s books. As a wolf brother, Elyas has a strange link to wolves, something that has been hinted at several times in Season 1 of The Wheel of Time. Despite the fact that Elyas has the capacity to talk with animals, as well as his reclusive personality and golden-hued eyes, he remains a weird yet captivating character for Perrin throughout the books. His participation in Season 2 of the show serves as a signal that this plot will be dag deeper.
Brandon Sanderson, who co-authored the books after Jordan’s 2007 death, has taken on a small role in the series. “The only meetings I was in were years ago when it was back at Sony and they were doing a movie and they brought me in a couple of times,” he recently shared on a podcast. Sanderson also appreciated Judkins’ unique approach, noting that the showrunner had executed it quite effectively notwithstanding the production’s turbulence.
The Wheel of Time revolves around the inhabitants of Two Rivers Rand, Egwene, Perrin, Mat, and Nynaeve as they meet Moiraine and her Warder Lan. Season 1 is now available to view on Amazon Prime Video. Season 2 has not yet been scheduled for release.
