The Super Mario Bros. Movie‘s first official trailer has been released by Nintendo and Illumination.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie‘s official trailer, which made its debut during a special Nintendo Direct presentation, has now been released online and stars Charlie Day as Luigi and Chris Pratt as Mario. Shigeru Miyamoto, a famed creator of video games for Nintendo, and Chris Meledandri, CEO of Illumination, teased the upcoming animated film in a video message that debuted with the trailer.
Before cutting to a scene with Mario and Toad, The Super Mario Bros. Movie begins with a look at the evil Bowser. A quick action clip showing Luigi eluding a gang of Dry Bones concludes the sneak peek. The Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer is available to view below.
Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, Fred Armisen, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Sebastian Maniscalco all lend their voices to The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s characters: Bowser, Donkey Kong, Cranky Kong, Kamek, and Foreman Spike. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are directing the film from a script written by Matthew Fogel.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is co-financed by Universal and Nintendo, with that company handling distribution. Despicable Me, Minions, The Secret Life of Pets, and Sing were previously produced by Illumination, a company that Universal co-owns.
On April 27, 2023, The Super Mario Bros. Movie debuts in theaters.
