Less than two months ago, the first trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie was published, setting up an internet frenzy. Despite the fact that the sneak look had just two lines of speech from Chris Pratt, the actor’s Mario voice received criticism from fans of the well-known video game franchise.
In advance of The Super Mario Bros. Movie‘s 2023 release, Nintendo and Illumination have now released the second official teaser, which includes additional audio and visuals from the much anticipated animated film. The video is embedded below.
John Leguizamo, the original cinematic Luigi, recently criticized Chris Pratt‘s Mario casting. In the 1993 live-action Super Mario Bros. film, which also starred the late Bob Hoskins as Mario, Leguizamo portrayed the recognizable Nintendo character.

Universal and Nintendo jointly funded The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Nintendo was in charge of distribution. Despicable Me, Minions, The Secret Life of Pets, and Sing were formerly produced by Illumination, a company that Universal co-owns.
On April 27, 2023, The Super Mario Bros. Movie debuts in theaters.
