The ‘Planet of the Apes’ Trilogy Is Now Half Completed on 4K UHD

It is definitely hard to see quality film trilogies. Since the “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” first appeared more than 10 years ago, followed by two amazing sequels titled  “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” and “War for the Planet of the Apes,” it’s not easy to think of other lasting franchises that have a pleasing ending to boot and pack in a coherent storyline, as successfully as the sci-fi action series.

It is completely good news for apes fans when the three films in 4K UHD are 44% off on Amazon. It means that fans can watch the trilogy for $25. First introduced on Blu-ray in 2017, the 4K upgrade is absolutely useful when it can enhance the series’ well-known dark lighting – with higher resolution, audiences can see tiny details of the foliage, the simians’ muzzle, and other shady sequences that you might not have seen before.

Serving as a reboot of the original 1968 “Planet of the Apes” franchise, Rupert Wyatt’s “Rise,” which was released in 2011, features James Franco as Will Rodman, a scientist developing the virus that would make apes smart enough to clear all of humanity on the Earth. The movie “Dawn,” directed by Matt Reeves, was reintroduced to Caesar (Andy Serkis), Patient Zero chimp of Rodman who now manages a brand of followers in San Francisco and is confused between remaining loyal to his species and trying to rescue the human population. The third movie “War” witnesses a vast battle between the species when the apes are pushed into a fight with an army of humans, guided by a severe colonel (Woody Harrelson.)

Purchase the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy on 4K UHD below when it’s still on sale.
