A preview of The Little Mermaid, featuring the sequence with the “Kiss the Girl” musical number, will air during the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
The legendary moment where Ariel and Prince Eric are on a boat ride is acted out by Halle Bailey and Jonah Hauer-King. Ariel is trying to receive a kiss from her love interest in order to end Ursula’s curse and regain her voice.
Additionally, the voices of Flounder (Jacob Tremblay), Sebastian (Daveed Diggs), and Scuttle (Awkwafina) can be heard in the footage.

The Little Mermaid, a Disney animated film starring Halle Bailey as Ariel, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, and Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder, is directed by Marshall and written by David Magee. Javier Bardem plays King Triton, and Awkwafina and Daveed Diggs provide the voices for Scuttle and Sebastian the Crab, respectively.
On May 26, The Little Mermaid will debut in theaters.
