The story is only getting started!
The Last of Us has a new HBO video that highlights the final episodes.

Last night saw the premiere of the first episode of HBO’s The Last of Us, which introduced viewers to the show’s key protagonists. With the episode now accessible, HBO has provided a sneak peek at the remaining eight episodes of season one, which will continue to follow Joel Miller, Tess Servopoulos, and Ellie Williams as they make their way to the Capitol. View the trailer down below.
The Last of Us is a video game that Naughty Dog created and Sony Computer Entertainment released. Joel, a smuggler, and Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, who just might be able to stop the dreadful pandemic that gave rise to the game’s post-apocalyptic environment, are the focus of the story. Joel, who was hired to transport Ellie out of a quarantine region, discovers that the teenage girl is as dependent on him as he is on her as they struggle to survive while traveling across America.
The HBO adaptation of The Last of Us is expected to include the events of the first game, with the possibility of additional content from the second game. The budget for the series, with each episode costing about $10 million and a total of about $200 million, is reported to be one of the highest ever. The budget for each episode of the final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones was $15 million.
The critically praised HBO miniseries Chernobyl was created by Craig Mazin, who also worked on The Last of Us adaptation, and the Naughty Dog game’s writer and creative director, Neil Druckmann. Brad Leland, Elaine Miles, Melanie Lynskey, Rutina Wesley, Nico Parker, Storm Reid, Jeffrey Pierce, Lamar Johnson, Kevonn Woodard, Graham Greene, and Nico Parker are also featured in the cast.
The two performers who played Joel and Ellie in the two Last of Us computer games, Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, are also expected to appear in the HBO adaptation as brand-new characters. Johnson is involved as Ellie’s mother Anna, while Baker is portraying a character named James who is referred to as “a senior member of a group of settlers.”
HBO broadcasts The Last of Us on Sunday nights.
