The Last of Us, an HBO production, has a tense web trailer.

A brand-new trailer for HBO’s live-action The Last of Us adaptation, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, has been released. Before the series’ release next month, the trailer gave fans a new peek at the hotly awaited show during this year’s CCXP, a Brazilian entertainment expo.
The Last of Us is a video game created by Naughty Dog and released by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is about a smuggler named Joel and a 14-year-old girl named Ellie, who may hold the key to eradicating the deadly pandemic that caused the post-apocalyptic world of the game.
Joel, who was hired to smuggle Ellie out of a quarantine area, discovers that the adolescent girl is as dependent on him as he is on her as they struggle to survive as they travel across America.
The original game’s events are anticipated to be covered in The Last of Us‘ HBO adaptation, with the second game serving as a potential source for extra material. Each episode of the new series is expected to cost around $10 million, with a total budget of over $200 million, making it one of the most costly shows ever produced. In contrast, the final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones had an episode budget of $15 million.
Both Neil Druckmann, the writer and creative director of the Naughty Dog game, and Craig Mazin, the creator of the critically acclaimed HBO miniseries Chernobyl, are working on the adaptation of The Last of Us. Brad Leland, Elaine Miles, Melanie Lynskey, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Storm Reid, Jeffrey Pierce, Lamar Johnson, Keivonn Woodard, Graham Greene, and Merle Dandridge are also featured in the cast.
The two actors who portrayed Joel and Ellie in the two Last of Us video games, Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, are also slated to make an appearance in the HBO adaptation as new characters. Baker will be portraying James, who Entertainment Weekly describes as “a senior member of a group of settlers,” while Johnson will be playing Anna, a pregnant lady.
The Last of Us on HBO will debut on January 15, 2023.
