Fans of “The Last of Us” are getting their first glimpse at Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the roles of their favorite characters, Joel and Ellie.

The announcement was made by Neil Druckmann, who is filling the roles of the co-creator, executive producer, writer, and director of the planned series adaption at the Summer Game Fest. This is the first official picture released for the upcoming production starring Gabriel Luna, Nico Parker, Merle Dandridge, Nick Offerman, Murray Bartlett, Jeffrey Pierce, and Anna Torv.
In addition to sharing the photograph, Druckmann, who is also the co-president of Naughty Dog, was joined by Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker, who provided their voices for the characters of Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II. It was disclosed that their roles in the series have been shown to be much distinct from those they portrayed in the animated series.

The Last of Us picks up twenty years after modern society has been destructed. It revolves around Joel, a tough survivor who is tapped to rescue Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of a restrictive quarantine zone. What begins as a little task becomes a grueling and devastating adventure as they travel the United States and rely on one another for survival.
