The Last of Us, an HBO Original drama series, will premiere its nine-episode first season on Sunday, January 15 at 9:00 PM ET/PT on HBO and will be streamable in 4K on HBO Max.

The story begins twenty years after the annihilation of modern society. Joel, a seasoned survivor, is recruited to carry Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of a suffocating quarantine zone. A simple task quickly turns into a grueling trip as they both travel across the US and rely on one another to survive.
Joel is played by Pedro Pascal, while Ellie is played by Bella Ramsey. Other characters are Tommy by Gabriel Luna, Tess by Anna Torv, Sarah by Nico Parker, Frank by Murray Bartlett, and Bill by Nick Offerman.
Along with Graham Greene as Marlon and Elaine Miles as Florence, the ensemble also features Melanie Lynskey (Kathleen), Storm Reid (Riley), Merle Dandridge (Marlene), and Jeffrey Pierce (Perry). Other casts include Lamar Johnson (Henry), Keivonn Woodard (Sam), and Jeffrey Pierce (Perry). Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson are also featured.
The Last of Us is a film based on the same-named video game published by Naughty Dog exclusively for PlayStation platforms. The writers and executive producers are Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. Executive producers for the show include Carolyn Strauss, Evan Wells, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Rose Lam. This was created in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television.
