The Gray Man is a film adaptation of the novel written by Mark Greaney in 2009 and revolves around a character called Court Gentry who is a freelance assassin and a former CIA agent. Due to his own agency’s treachery, he has been forced to live the life of a fugitive. The action-thriller adaption is billed as a lethal fight between murderers as Gentry is chased throughout the world by Lloyd Hansen, a former colleague of Gentry’s at the CIA.
Besides Gosling and Evans, Jessica Henwick, Ana de Armas, Alfre Woodard, Wagner Moura, Regé-Jean Page, Julia Butters, Billy Bob Thornton, Dhanush, Eme Ikwuakor, Scott Haze, Calla Mulvey, Robert Kazinsky, Michael Gandolfini, Sam Lerner, and DeObia Oparei round out the film’s cast.
Joe and Anthony Russo, who are also known for directing Avengers: Endgame, are in charge of directing The Gray Man. Joe Russo wrote the script for the film, and Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, also known for writing for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, provided “a polish” to the script. An estimated budget of $200 million has been put up for the project’s goal of creating a “James Bond-level” franchise.
