The Flash has made an effort to conceal who its major antagonist is. The best look at the antagonist yet has been provided to fans by a new toy after the villain’s abilities were revealed at a recent toy fair.

Fans now know that the villain for The Flash will be the Dark Flash, who seems to be based on the Black Flash from the comics and will be able to suck the soul from speedsters, thanks to a series of leaks from the movie’s merchandise. With the toy in question, leaks of the Dark Flash’s appearance have either been concealed or heavily stylized. Yet a brand-new McFarlane Toys figurine offers the best glimpse we’ve yet had of the bad guy. Below are pictures of the figure:

The introduction of the Dark Flash is a significant divergence from the Flashpoint comics, on which the movie is based, where the Reverse Flash serves as the narrative’s primary antagonist. The Dark Flash has also been completely absent from the movie’s trailers up to this point, with the most of the attention going to Michael Keaton’s Batman and Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen. Fans will probably have to wait until the movie is out to find out what part they play in this rendition.
The Flash is based on the Flashpoint comic book story, which followed Barry Allen as he traveled through a redesigned DC Universe. It was directed by Andy Muschietti, with a screenplay by Christina Hodson. Geoff Johns and Andy Kuber’s creation, Flashpoint, radically upended the DC Comics universe’s established order and prepared the ground for the launch of the New 52 series.
Along with Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck playing two different versions of Batman, The Flash also stars Ezra Miller, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verd as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, and Luke Brandon Field also take on unidentified roles.
