The Flash is a film written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey) and directed by Andy Muschietti. It is based on the Flashpoint comic book narrative, which followed Barry Allen as he navigated a transformed DC Universe. Flashpoint, written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, changed the status quo of the DC Comics universe and ushered in the New 52 era.
The Flash also stars Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two different versions of Batman, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Maribel Verd as Nora Allen, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl, in addition to Ezra Miller. Rudy Mancuso, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, and Luke Brandon Field are also cast in unclear roles.
