At CinemaCon, new footage for Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom and The Flash was presented.
A lot of delays plagued both The Flash and Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom. Both films were supposed to be released in 2022, however, they’ve been put back to 2023. Warner Bros., on the other hand, has continued to promote both films. New footage for each of these films appeared at CinemaCon this year, giving us a taste of what’s to come next year.
The Flash footage debuted first, and it revealed a lot about the future picture. According to accounts, the tape showed Barry Allen traveling through time and showcasing his boyhood home as well as recordings of himself. Michael Keaton’s Batman rides a Batcycle and wears multiple different Batsuits in the film. In addition, we get our first glimpse at Sasha Calle as Supergirl, as well as Michael Shannon’s return as Zod. “You want to get nuts?” says Keaton’s Batman at the end of the footage. Let’s go crazy!
The trailer for Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom was shown later in the session. It featured Black Manta, who appeared to be heading a large army against Atlantis. Aquaman will have to link up with his half-brother, Orm, who was beaten at the conclusion of the previous film, to defeat him.
The Flash is a film directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey). It is based on the Flashpoint comic book narrative, which followed Barry Allen as he navigated a transformed DC Universe. Flashpoint, written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, changed the status quo of the DC Comics universe and ushered in the New 52 era.
The Flash also stars Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two different versions of Batman, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Maribel Verd as Nora Allen, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl, in addition to Ezra Miller. Rudy Mancuso, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, and Luke Brandon Field are also cast in unclear roles.
The upcoming sequel, directed by James Wan, stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Amber Heard as Mera, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Jan Zaho as Stingray, Temuera Morrison as Arthur Curry, Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin, Vincent Regan as Atlan, Indya Moore as Karshon and Game of Thrones‘ Pilou Asbaek in an unspecified role.
Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will be released in theaters on March 17, 2023, followed by The Flash on June 23, 2023.
