Jude Law has stated that Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will finally have one more new trailer on Thursday, November 16. After a number of unexpected pushbacks, the third installment of Harry Potter’s controversial spin-off trilogy Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is getting closer. Fantastic Beasts 3 was originally set to air in November 2021, however, the release date was moved back owing to the coronavirus outbreak, which caused the shooting to be postponed. The film also had to overcome the difficulty of Johnny Depp being terminated from the role of Gellert Grindelwald, which was eventually filled by Mads Mikkelsen, who was later cast in the role of the dark wizard. Following all of this, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is planned to hit theaters in April of this year.
Taken place following the events of 2018’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, The Secrets of Dumbledore will delve deeper into the war between the forces of good and Grindelwald’s increasing army. Albus Dumbledore (Law) sends magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and a crew around the world on a quest that might prove critical in the rising wizarding war. Numerous franchise characters will reprise their roles in Fantastic Beasts 3, including Katherine Waterston, Dan Folger, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, William Nadylam, and Ezra Miller.
Fans had their first glimpse at Fantastic Beasts 3 in December, which means it’s about time for another peek. Fortunately, the wait is nearly over. Law revealed the next Secrets of Dumbledore teaser would release on Thursday, February 24, in a video uploaded to the official Fantastic Beasts social media account. Fans are urged to demonstrate their enthusiasm for all things Dumbledore online in the gear-up to the film’s debut. Take a look at the following Law’s message:
With the premiere of Fantastic Beasts 3 less than two months away, fans got impatient with a new teaser. The franchise’s overall reaction still stirs up controversy, all the more so given that The Crimes of Grindelwald had the lowest rating of any Harry Potter film to date. Given that author J.K. Rowling remains a controversial character, it’s possible that Warner Bros. is being especially circumspect in advertising Fantastic Beasts. Nonetheless, the next teaser has the potential to pique interest in the upcoming episode of Newt’s adventure.
A particularly noteworthy aspect of Law’s statement is his encouragement to fans to express their Dumbledore pride, which appears to validate what the movie’s title previously implied. Secrets of Dumbledore is going all-in on putting a larger emphasis on Albus, which has elicited mixed reactions from fans, with some expressing joy and others expressing regret. During the video, Law stated that more of Dumbledore’s past would be revealed in Fantastic Beasts 3, and it is possible that some of this information could be referred to in the new teaser as well. Because so much of Dumbledore’s life was explored in Harry Potter, it will be fascinating to watch how the new film provides a fresh viewpoint on the characters that fans have grown to love so much over the years. This Thursday, everything will be unraveled.
