For many fans, it’s no secret that the DC Extended Universe has struggled with consistency since its start. The biggest culprit, according to the franchise’s ardent fans, is Warner Bros., and although this may be true, the firm has nevertheless managed to produce several great DCEU films in recent years.

Of course, it’s difficult to overlook the reality that the franchise still has fundamental flaws, which is why a significant reorganization is set to begin. According to recent reports, the planned Warner Bros. and Discovery merger would give fans a fresh new DC world, and it appears that they will reset the clock on the franchise.
As of yet, we haven’t heard anything about the DCEU’s future or whether or not the aforementioned makeover will genuinely address the issues. However, according to Variety, the Warner Bros. Discovery merger might be the fresh start that the whole DC world requires.
According to the entertainment news site, David Zaslav, the merged firms’ CEO, is adamant about making significant changes to the brand. One of them is the resurgence of Superman, who has long been a victim of WB and DC Films’ shady creative direction. The Man of Steel, according to Zaslav, is one of DC’s “top shelf characters… allowed to languish.”
We don’t know what Zaslav’s next move will be, but based on his remark, he appears to be more in touch with the fanbase than certain WB and DC Films officials. Now, it’s a little early to be enthusiastic, but this does offer us hope that fan favorite Henry Cavill will return to the DCEU in the future.
