On The Boys, showrunner Eric Kripke hints when the first teaser for season 3 will ultimately be out. Over the course of its first two seasons, Amazon Prime Video’s R-rated superhero series has become a smash-hit phenomenon. Although The Boys season 3 was confirmed in advance of the second season’s premiere, COVID-19 hindered the eagerly-awaited comeback of Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid). The cast and crew, on the other hand, persevered through the pandemic to finish production in the fall of 2021, keeping the series on target for a 2022 comeback.
Season 3 of The Boys is supposed to contain a slew of outrageous setpieces and socially and politically charged issues, but plot specifics are mainly unknown. Audiences are aware that Homelander (Antony Starr) will be on edge, and Starlight (Erin Moriarty) appears to be leading as head of Vought’s superhero squad, the Seven. While Billy and Hughie will also come back besides the rest of The Boys, season 3 will also be adapted from the well-known Herogasm event from the Garth Ennis and Darrick Robertson comics that the show is based on.
Thankfully, showrunner Eric Kripke provided an update on the upcoming season’s status through Twitter. He indicated that the first half of the season is messed up and that there is still a lot of VFX work to be done. However, Kripke revealed that the first season 3 trailer for The Boys has been wrapped and would be teased in the coming weeks. The new season’s first three episodes will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 3, 2022.
Although the marketing campaign for The Boys season 3 has yet to start off with an official trailer, a little bit of information is still disclosed by Amazon Prime Video since season 2 wrapped in early October 2020. At the start of 2022, Prime Video released a short teaser for The Boys season 3, which gave a brief glimpse of Starlight and Homelander. Additionally, the streaming service has created some more content via the YouTube series “Seven on Seven with Cameron Coleman,” which chronicles the events that transpired between seasons 2 and 3.
With The Boys season 3 set to premiere in June, Amazon may release the first trailer in late February or early March. The teaser will surely appeal to fans of the series because it will likely contain the first glimpse of action-packed Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, maybe along with his superhero team Payback’s other members. Additionally, it would come as surprise if The Boys season 3 teaser included the first hint of the Herogasm plot, provided that the storyline can be packaged in a trailer aimed at a wide audience.
