Jensen Ackles‘ Soldier Boy in 1945 during World War II is seen in a new photograph from The Boys.

Jensen Ackles, who plays Soldier Boy on Supernatural, was cast as the character before the second season of The Boys was published. Soldier Boy, a spoof of Captain America, was one of Frederick Vought‘s earliest subjects and one of the world’s first superheroes. With the first teaser showcasing Soldier Boy in action, we got our first glimpse at him on the set of Season 3 earlier this year.

Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy from 1945 during World War II was featured on the official Vought International Twitter account earlier today. The following is the entire image:

In 1945, an executive order was drafted to establish April 28 as #SoldierBoyDay, honoring his heroic efforts in World War II. But he humbly changed it to #NationalSuperheroDay instead, making it a day ALL heroes are celebrated. Retweet to honor the original! 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/n5gK4W0ZQ2

Karl Urban,  Antony Starr, Jack Quaid, Dominique McElligott,  Nathan Mitchell, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso, Erin Moriarty, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, and Colby Minifie feature in the film The Boys, which also stars Jensen Ackles.
