The spectacular Colin Farrell Penguin makeup procedure is seen in a behind-the-scenes footage from The Batman.
One of the most lauded features of Matt Reeves‘ The Batman is how it established much of Robert Pattinson‘s Caped Crusader’s Rogues Gallery. The Riddler (Paul Dano), The Penguin (Colin Farrell), Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz), and The Joker (Barry Keoghan) appear together for the first time in a Batman picture since Adam West’s 1966 feature.
In the case of The Penguin, not only was Colin Farrell‘s portrayal of Lee Harvey Oswald commended, but the makeup was also lauded for making the actor unrecognizable. Despite the fact that we are still a long way from the Academy Awards, some are already touting The Batman as a lock for a Best Makeup nod.
A new behind-the-scenes film from The Batman shows the remarkable effort that went into the long process of applying The Penguin‘s makeup on Colin Farrell. It’s nothing short of astounding, as you can see:
The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson as Batman and Bruce Wayne, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, and Barry Keoghan as The Joker.
The Batman is now available for purchase and streaming online and exclusively on HBO Max, with physical media available on May 24.
