The Batman: Paul Dano’s Riddler Is Unmasked In A New Clip

A video from The Batman gives fans their first glimpse of Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/The Riddler without the mask in the imminent DC film.

The first official glance of unmasked Paul Dano‘s Edward Nashton/Riddler is revealed in a new video from Warner Bros. and DC Films’ The Batman.

The teaser released on Good Morning America features a sequence from the film’s official trailer. While the trailer cut away before revealing Dano’s face, the new scene shows him turning around, raising his hands and sneering at Jim Gordon and the rest of the Gotham City Police Department before being arrested.

As The Riddler in a live-action picture, Dano will become the third actor to take on this role, joining Frank Gorshin in 1966’s Batman and Jim Carrey in 1995’s Batman Forever. While both of those representations were wacky (for better or worse), Dano’s Riddler draws inspiration from infamous real-life serial murderers.
