The Batman has been out for nearly a month, yet it appears that fans are still picking up on fresh aspects in the picture. For example, a few fans discovered that the Riddler appeared in an unexpected sequence early in the film. Surprisingly, filmmaker Matt Reeves said that Paul Dano‘s role was hiding in plain sight!
In The Batman, we first see the Riddler as he attacks Gotham City mayor Don Mitchell Jr. and leaves clues for the Caped Crusader. We don’t see him again until the attack on Gil Colson, but he was seen in a shot overlooking the Iceberg, which several fans spotted.
So, was it the Riddler or one of his henchmen? Matt Reeves saw a tweet about the incident and established right away that the man hiding in the apartment window was actually Paul Dano‘s Edward Nashton.
Indeed, I can confirm. 100% https://t.co/bryYms9t0x

It’s a great tidbit that proves the Riddler‘s method of keeping track of everyone who enters and exits the Iceberg Lounge (or the inner club 44 Below). This explains how he got his hands on Mitchell’s damning images with Annika and the Penguin.
The Batman is still playing in theaters and has so far grossed over $751 million, solidifying its position as the highest-grossing picture of 2022. The film is now available to view on HBO Max, where it is anticipated to reach a larger audience.
Robert Pattinson portrayed Bruce Wayne, Zoe Kravitz portrayed Selina Kyle, Paul Dano portrayed The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright portrayed Jim Gordon, John Turturro portrayed Carmine Falcone, and Peter Sarsgaard portrayed Gil Colson, Andy Serkis portrayed Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell portrayed Oswald Cobblepot in The Batman. In a planned HBO Max spin-off series, Farrell will reprise his role as the Penguin.
