
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, a prequel to Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games, will feature West Side Story star, Josh Andrés Rivera.
In the film, Rivera will portray Sejanus Plinth, the mentor of a tribute from District 2, and a close friend of young Coriolanus Snow, who will be portrayed by Tom Blyth. Rivera will also reunite onscreen with West Side Story co-star Rachel Zegler, who will portray Lucy Gray, the poor District 12 tribute girl.

On November 17, 2023, the film version of Suzanne Collins’ novel will premiere in cinemas throughout the globe. Lionsgate’s four-film Hunger Games franchise had racked up over $3 billion globally when it came to an end in 2014. The company is now looking to extend the life span of the franchise with an adaptation of Collins’ most recent novel in the dystopian series, titled The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
