The Big Bad Wolf is on his way, planning to do more than just destroy a few houses. The first trailer for Dreamworks‘ The Evil Guys has been out, and it features the world’s greatest villains working together to make being bad look wonderful.
Mr. Wolf (voiced by Sam Rockwell) familiarizes audiences with his intimate friends and crime crew, including Mr. Snake (Marc Maron), who can easily crack open safes, Mr. Shark (Craig Robinson), Mr. Piranha (Anthony Ramos), the crew’s muscle, and Ms. Tarantula (Awkwafina), who has never met anything she couldn’t hack into.
This gang, dubbed “The Bad Guys,” has spent years committing theft and other crimes, earning them a reputation for fame and intrigue. When the cops draw in on the group, Mr. Wolf has a scheme that stems from protecting an elderly lady from whom he was going to take money: So that he can keep his team out of jail, he would attempt to rebrand them as “The Good Guys“.
The Bad Guys is originated from a series of Aaron Blabey‘s Scholastic books. This year’s October, director Pierre Perifel approved of the film’s direction, with co-writers Etan Choen and Hilary Winston cooperating to create the screenplay. Daniel Pemberton, who also composed the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, was called in to compose the film.
The Bad Guys’ teaser, akin to that of Into the Spider-Verse, features some fairly unusual animation and visual design, with an appropriate combination between 3D characters with 2D qualities that immediately sets it apart from other Dreamworks efforts.
On April 22, 2022, The Bad Guys will be released in theaters. Take a look at the trailer below:
