The Avengers have essentially held sway over the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its birth in 2008. They are still regarded as the dominant superhero team in the MCU four phases later and for good cause.

The Avengers will remain the core characters in the series until at least 2025, as we learned at San Diego Comic-Con in July, but it appears like Marvel Studios is already sowing the seeds for a significant roster shakeup within the blockbuster comic book film industry.
Kevin Feige has already sketched up ideas for the MCU’s next major saga, which will take place after the Multiverse Saga concludes with Avengers: Secret Wars in 2025, according to a recent leak from the frequently trustworthy Daniel Richtman. The Earth’s Mightiest Heroes may be taking a backseat this time to make room for the mutants, who are expected to take center stage in the franchise following Phase 6.
Take this sizzling new rumor with a grain of salt since, as of right now, information about Marvel’s upcoming major storyline is still being kept under wraps. With the X-Men remake currently in place, it would be reasonable to presume that it will in fact focus on the mutants.
When that time comes, the Avengers will undoubtedly have to take a back seat for a bit, but given that the superteam has dominated the series for more than ten years, even Earth’s Mightiest Heroes deserve a respite.
Having said that, work is now being done on the X-Men remake from Marvel Studios.
