The Adam Project, starring Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds, held the top spot in Nielsen‘s movie streaming list for the week ending March 21-27 with 1.2 billion minutes watched.
The Netflix original film is a science fiction time-travel adventure about a jet pilot (Reynolds) who travels back in time to meet up with his younger self and late father.
The film came in second place among all streaming content for the week of March 21-27, behind only the second season premiere of Netflix’s Bridgerton, which racked up a staggering 2.5 billion watching minutes in its opening weekend.
Nonetheless, The Adam Project held up admirably with a 1.33 billion minutes opening weekend debut that placed it second behind Disney’s Turning Red (1.67 billion) for the week of March 14-20.
The positions of the two films interchanged for the week of March 21–27. With 977 million minutes seen, Turning Red came in second. Encanto from Disney+ came on the heels with 719 million.
