The Duffer Brothers already announced that Stranger Things Season 5 would be the final installment of the Netflix series. Even one of the show’s actors, Finn Wolfhard, concurs that it would be challenging to see the show go on to Season 6, given that the entire plot is nearly concluded. But the Duffer Brothers did show a desire to create a spinoff, and now a fresh source has claimed that the spinoff would purportedly center on Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven.
Beginning with Stranger Things Season 1 and continuing through the most recent Stranger Things Season 4, Millie Bobby Brown gained notoriety for her depiction of the lead character Eleven or Jane. There is no doubt that Eleven is the character on the show who most deserves to have their own spinoff. Sadly, the creators of Stranger Things proved the report to be untrue. Below is their tweet in response.
Finn Wolfhard acknowledged that he was able to predict the entire plot the co-creators have in mind for the Stranger Things spinoff, while it is unclear exactly what the Duffer Brothers have in mind. Stranger Things Season 5 is still in production, so any updates on a spinoff would have to wait. While we haven’t heard anything yet about the potential spinoff, it is still in production.
Given that a Stranger Things anime series was allegedly in development at Netflix last year, it is also unclear which Stranger Things spinoff the rumor refers to.
Stranger Things: Tokyo, an anime series with a 6 hour runtime, will star “video game-loving twin boys living on the outskirts of 1980s Tokyo.” The animated series is rumored to focus on their experiences in the Upside Down, which will inevitably tie into the setting of the Netflix series Stranger Things.
The fifth season of Stranger Things is anticipated to air around the middle of 2024.
