Weird Al Yankovic is the most recent pop-culture staple to be highlighted in the sci-fi tentpole Stranger Things on Netflix.
Friday marked the release of the eagerly-awaited first volume of the fourth season. In the relevant scene, high school students Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) and Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) are seen eating lunch in the cafeteria. Joseph Quinn, a newbie to the Stranger Things series, joins them in his role as the leader of their Hellfire Club, Eddie Munson. Eddie mentions Yankovic when he reminisces about the first time he met the two friends.
Yankovic responded to the brief name-drop with an equally brief social media post.
“#Brave #StrangerThings,” he tweeted on Friday, hours after the first episodes of season 4 came out on Netflix. Please see his tweet farther down.
The current season of Stranger Things will come to a close with the release of Volume 2, which will consist of two episodes and will take place on July 1.
