Stranger Things’ fourth season cost Netflix a big deal.
According to reports, it cost $30 million for each episode to produce the next season of the highly acclaimed science-fiction drama. The nine-episode season’s total budget is estimated at $270 million.
The wages of the performers, which were recently disclosed by the streaming giant, accounted for a portion of the large sums spent on the series. David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, and Winona Ryder are all in the top three highest-paid actors on the show with $350,000 each episode. Numerous other members of the core cast, such as Finn Wolfhard and Noah Schnapp, get $250,000 every episode.
Stranger Things is a science-fiction TV series picked up in 1980s Indiana. It revolves around a group of friends as they find supernatural forces and government experiments in their tiny town. The series has garnered widespread critical praise, with four Golden Globe nominations and three Grammy nominations.
The first season of Stranger Things aired on July 15, 2016, and the series will wrap with the fifth season.
Season 4‘s first half, known as part 1, will feature the season’s first five episodes, which will premiere on May 27. The last four episodes are scheduled to premiere on July 1.
