On the heels of its Season 4 debut on Friday, Netflix’s Stranger Things is helping to bring back a blast from the past. The 1985 track “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” by Kate Bush is presently holding the top spot on iTunes.
The song makes its debut in the pilot episode and goes on to play an important role in the narrative revolving around Max (Sadie Sink).

The song “Running Up That Hill” was released as the first single from Bush’s album Hounds of Love. It went on to become the artist’s most successful single of the era. It was initially going to be named “A Deal With God,” but her record company decided to alter it out of worry that it might be banned in countries with strong religious traditions, such as Italy, France, and Australia.
It is not the first time that Stranger Things has helped revitalize the theme song from the classic fantasy film The NeverEnding Story, performed by Limahl last season. YouTube said at the time that searches for music videos saw an increase of 800 percent immediately after the new episodes came out.
Stranger Things’ first four seasons are now streaming on Netflix.
