This last week, a few more tens of millions of hours were contributed to the Season 4 total. The total amount of time spent watching the new season (both volumes taken together) was 1.35 billion hours in the first 28 days after its release. This is the most hours clocked by any English-language series on Netflix and more than twice as much as the second most popular season of an English-language series on the streaming service, Bridgerton 2 (656M).
After the first two weeks of Stranger Things 4 Vol.1’s premiere, it was evident that Squid Game’s record of 1.65 billion hours seen in the first 28 days is unbreakable. Stranger Things 4 came the closest, coming within 298M hours of the Korean drama phenomenon’s total runtime.
With 87.9M hours seen in its first full week of release for the week of July 25, love drama Virgin River maintained its position as the highest-rated new English-language series.
Another Korean success story, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, returned to the top spot on the non-English side with 65.5M hours for the week; the series has topped the non-English charts in three of its four weeks so far.
