Max Mayfield has been a vital addition to the cast of the show since her debut in the second season, but this time, her tale keeps getting better as she emerges as one of the key characters in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2.

Mostly yes, mainly no According to Lucas, Max did really pass away in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 for a substantial amount of time. But Eleven tried all in her power to save Max’s life since she couldn’t let one of her best friends perish.
Eleven eventually regained consciousness when she heard Mike’s voice, but it was too late since Vecna had already grabbed Max and was holding him in the air. Vecna had nearly gained the upper hand, then he is pushed away by Eleven, but Max has already sustained an injury. Even so, Eleven kills Vecna despite her warnings that it is now too late.
Max was briefly cognizant while in Lucas’ arms, but she informs him that she is unable to see or feel anything. Erica is urgently instructed to phone an ambulance by Lucas. Eleven wept as she saw Lucas in the mindscape pleading for Max to return to him. The unexpected was done by Eleven, and Max was revived.
It turns out that Eleven was successful, but Max is still unconscious, and it is unknown whether or not she will ever wake up. She even has a neck brace on top of having her eyes gouged out and her limbs broken. Max was miraculously saved by Eleven, but she was only able to do so much.
No one knows as of now. It’s a topic that will undoubtedly be covered in Stranger Things Season 5 as a cliffhanger to keep the audience interested in what happens to the adored character moving forward.
On Max’s return, there is a clue, though. Lucas reads “The Talisman” to her while she lies on the hospital bed asleep. In the story, the main character must locate the relic to save his mother from fatal cancer.
The Hawkins gang would need to locate their own talisman or item to revive Max, based only on the plot of “The Talisman.”
