Andor, the prequel series to Rogue One, has just dropped its newest trailer. The three new episodes of the Disney+ spinoff series are set to premiere on September 21. That is three weeks later than the originally scheduled launch date of August 31, and will now follow the premieres of House of the Dragon (August 21) and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (August 21) on HBO and Prime Video, respectively (September 2).
The action-adventure series revolves around the character of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna, repeating his role from the film) in the early days of the revolt against the Empire before the events of Rogue One. The series will start with Andor’s homeworld being destroyed. Forest Whitaker reprises his role as Saw Gerrera from the previous film in the trailer.
In addition to Luna and Whitaker, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Fiona Shaw, and Kyle Soller are also on board.
Tony Gilroy, who worked on the original Rogue One screenplay, is the mind behind the series, while Toby Haynes is at the helm of the show. Additionally, Ben Caron and Susanna White will also direct episodes.
