In the Star Wars television series The Acolyte on Disney+, former The Good Place star Manny Jacinto will appear opposite Amandla Stenberg and recently crowned Emmy winner Lee Jung-jae. Jacinto joins previously revealed Jodie Turner-Smith in the series from Leslye Headland and Lucasfilm.
The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will immerse viewers in a galaxy of murky secrets and burgeoning Dark Side skills in the final days of the High Republic era, according to Disney+, which made the project announcement in December 2020. An “acolyte” in the Star Wars universe is a person with Force abilities who takes instruction from a more experienced Sith Lord.

Headland assists the showrunner, executive producer, director, and writer of the series.
The most recent films starring Jacinto, who played Jason Mendoza on The Good Place, were Top Gun: Maverick, I Want You Back on Amazon and Nine Perfect Strangers on Hulu. Principals Talent Management in Vancouver, Alchemy Entertainment, CAA, and McKuin Frankel Whitehead are his agents.
