The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has always been advertised as a limited series since its inception. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen have been invited back by Lucasfilm Studios for a six-part adventure that will span the gap between Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope.
However, given the series’ resounding success and the fact that it was the most-watched debut in Disney+ history, it appears that another Obi-Wan Kenobi narrative will be produced in the future.
As of now, it’s unclear if it’ll be renamed or become a second season of the show, but according to a recent rumor from Making Star Wars, both Lucasfilm and Disney are working on a new tale starring McGregor that will follow the events of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
According to the source, some sections of the show’s ending are being rewritten to allow for a second season and the return of some characters. With that in mind, Making Star Wars delves into the show’s evolution and conclusion. So be wary of possible spoilers.

Obi-Wan Kenobi has yet to be confirmed as more than a limited series by Disney or Lucasfilm. That said, the cast of the show (particularly McGregor) has been upfront about how much they’ve enjoyed their time with the plot, so it’s no surprise that they’d want to come back for more.
Bonnie Piesse, Maya Erskine, Benny Safdie, Sung Kang, Simon Kessel, Moses Ingram, and Indira Varma feature in Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The first three episodes of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi are presently streaming on Disney+, with more episodes arriving weekly.
