Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premiered a new teaser on Sunday, filled with mind-blowing sci-fi action-packed scenes and evoking a sense of nostalgia.
The two-minute teaser casts more light on Captain Christopher Pike‘s (Anson Mount) and the crew of the USS Enterprise’s adventures. The classic Starfleet ship, the USS Enterprise, used to be captained by Pike before Captain James T. Kirk from Star Trek: The Original Series took command. Rebecca Romijn portrays Una Chin-Riley, the ship’s first officer, while Ethan Peck takes on the role of Spock in the new Paramount+ series, which premieres on March 31. The trio is reprising their roles from Star Trek: Discovery.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds picks up a decade before Star Trek: The Original Series. Paul Wesley was just cast in the second season as Kirk. In a message on Twitter, William Shatner sent his best wishes to him.
Jess Bush co-stars as Nurse Christine Chapel, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga on the Paramount+ series, which also has recurrent guest performer Bruce Horak as Hemmer.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will air on Paramount+ on May 5 for a ten-episode inaugural season.
