The web-pire of the Spider-Man TV universe is growing

Oren Uziel, a big-screen writer who has worked on the Mortal Kombat live-action series from 2021 and the action comedy The Lost City starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, is creating a Spider-Man Noir live-action series for Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.
The creators of Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animated films, who introduced the Spider-Man Noir character to cinemas in the first place, Chris Miller and Phil Lord, worked with Uziel to conceive the series, and they will executive produce it under their Lord Miller label. Both Uziel and Amy Pascal, who is involved with all of Sony’s Spider-Man adaptations, are executive producing.
In 2009 comic miniseries, Spider-Man Noir made his debut as a more recent Marvel creation. A parallel realm called the Noir universe reimagines some Marvel heroes in a gritty 1930s context. Although still known as Peter Parker, the Spider-Man Noir identity was more pulpy and vigilante in nature.
2018’s Into the Spider-Verse included Nicolas Cage as the character’s voice actor.
The rights to Spider-Man and his incredible companions are owned by Sony, but Amazon and Sony have grand plans for an entire arachnid empire.
The firms are currently working on a Silk-based television series called Silk: Spider Society, which is being overseen by Angela Kang, the showrunner for The Walking Dead. According to Sony, there are more than 900 characters in the Spider-Man universe.
