In celebration of 60 years of the Spider-Man comic book character and 20 years of Spider-Man films, Sony announced today that a fan cut of its mega-hit Spider-Man: No Way Home, titled Spider-Man: No Way Home – The More Fun Stuff Version, will be released in theaters this Labor Day weekend in the United States and Canada with additional and extended scenes. According to an announcement on Sony’s social media, more nations will be added shortly.
Tickets will be available for purchase beginning on Tuesday, August 9, and screenings will begin on Friday, September 2 (including on PLFs.)
Spider-Man: No Way Home is tied as the third-highest-earning film of all time in the United States. Its cumulative gross of nearly $1.8 billion pushed the picture to the sixth highest-grossing title globally. Perhaps the re-release will help it surpass the $2 billion mark. Even more surprising, it will reach it without a Chinese release.
